(The Dolphin)

A small kite shaped constellation that is near Pegasus. It represents a dolphin who in Greek mythology was the messenger for the sea god Poseidon.

There are relative few deep sky objects of interest but there are some nice globular clusters.

  Blue Flash Nebula (NGC 6905):
A small oval planetary nebula that has one of the hottest Wolf Rayet stars at the centre.

  NGC 7006:
Large telescopes reveal this globular cluster to have a bright resolvable core but with a halo of fainter stars circling the core. Another special thing about this cluster is that it lies at the distance of 160 000 light years, which is much farther than more well known globulars such as 47 Tucanae or Omega Centauri.
