(The Little Horse)

After Crux, this is the constellation that occupies the least amount of space in the night sky. It is in between Pegasus and Delphinus and is not easily visible as its stars are very faint. Because of this reason it is relatively unknown. Another factor contributing to the low amount of attention that it receives is that it contains no deep sky objects of interest at all. The brightest object in Equuleus is a double star called NGC 7045. Other than that, a magnitude 14 galaxy called NGC 7046 that was seen by William Herschel.
