(The Indian)

This constellation represents a Native American that was encountered by Johann Bayer in the 17th century, at the time explorers thought the Native Americans were Indians as they mistakenly believed that America was India. As with many of the other southern constellations, there is no backstory or myth associated with it. The few deep sky objects include faint galaxies.

IC 5152:
IC 5152 is a fairly calm dwarf irregular galaxy that is magnitude 10.5, what is interesting about this galaxy is that it might be a member of the Local Group, the cluster that our Milky Way belongs to. As with many of the other objects in the Index Catalogue, IC 5152 was discovered towards the beginning of the 20th century in 1908 by Delisle Stewart.
